so here's the problem.....more commonly in the 3000 and below rpm range, when i open up the throttle the car jerks like a person first starting to learn how to drive a stick, and occurs occasionally in the higher rpm's......i checked the cel codes and it's throwing me a 12 (obd I H22A) which is the egr, does this sound like it could be the cause of this and if so can someone explain to me what exactly is going wrong with it that makes it act this way....thanx in advance

It's most likely something in your ignition.

Check:

spark plugs
spark plug whires
distributor rotor
distributor cap

Those are generally fairly easy to check and replace.

If it's the EGR, your ECU could be going into "limp mode" intermittently when it's expecting EGR system to be dumping exhaust back into your engine and it doesn't think that it's working. I don't think that your EGR system would cause this type of stuttering, but if you think it is (and you need to fix it anyway), check your vacuum lines and check to see if your EGR valve can open/close smoothly.
