alternator belt

my cousin gota a 92 accord and his alternator belt was loose and when he tightend it and tried to start the car it wouldnt start no click no noise no nothing just silence ..
so i hear that i can over tighten it and that the alternator wont spin if it has to much pressure ..or that the alternator went bad ..ect ect ..
so any feed back ???could i have burned something fuse ??

the belt has nothing to do with it check your battery connections and battery

yeah well thats what i had said told him to check his battery becus he had to mentiond to me he had to jump start it like three times ..
