Arp Head Studs?

When re-torquing the ARP head studs, would you guys recommend that I completly back the nut off then re-torque to spec. Should I do this re-torquing when the car is cold or immediately after it is shut down and still warm????

let it cool and torque them back down to spec (dont loosen them)
