Ok....I'm amassing all the crap and corruption to put a B16 in my '91 EF. I want to be able to swap out the main and countershaft gears (for 5th gear) to LS parts so I've got a more realistic highway gear.
The gears are discontinued; I've located an LS transmission with a damaged case and good guts, so the gears aren't a problem. What I haven't been able to figure out (for sure) is just what (cable) JDM transmissions are compatible.....are both the Y1 and the S1 countershafts the same....where this set of gears will fit in either one? There's well-detailed swap info out there for the Y1.....but not the S1. I don't want to end up with a transmission that I can't alter the 5th gear ratio.
