B16A, which generation to avoyed?

I remember reading sometime ago that there was one generation of the b16a that was not the greatest. I beleave it was the gen1 but I dont remember for sure.

Anyone care to enlighten me on this?

The OBD0 B16a has lower compression. Its always listed at 160 vs all the others 170.

Generally the newer the b16, the better. Newer motors will have less mileage, and less aging to the rubber seals and gaskets. If I was dropping a stock b16 in with no other plans, I'd try to source a low mileage obd2 motor. If I was building it, I'd get whatever is the cheapest.
