Would a b16a3 drop right in my 95' del sol si? What obd is it? Cause thats the engine that comes with a 94-97 del sol vtec.
 
if its from a 94-95 it will be the same OBD
if its USDM you can just plug the harness right in to yours
are you getting everything?? linkage, harness, ecu, tranny, axles, etc....


if its 96+ or JDM you will still need all of the above mentioned parts ... but you will need to do some tweeking of the wiring harness
 
Yes it would drop right in with the tranny and shiftlinkage, you could even use your Si wiring harness, or the one that comes with the motor. You need one that is frm a 94-95 OBD I, to match your car.

I think he was making sure that his is the same OBD, which it isn't if the motor is from a 96-97.

yeah i forgot to answer that part. sorry. but i was refering to the "will it drop right in" part
 
Does anyone know where i can get a b16a3? I've looked through hmotorsonline.com and jaydm.com but they didnt have it.
 
while i like USDM motors because its easier to track their history...

i have the say obd1 b16a sir2 motors make more power and much more torque.

i had a very strong b16a3 and was able to get 152-104 out of it...which is more than most with bolt-on's and shorter than average final drive.

a friends setup and several other jdm b16a's that i know of have made 160-165 with the same bolt-on's.

get a JDM b16a sir2 and spend the additional 300 to get a transmission with LSD. you'll be very happy as the cams are better and the higher compression makes for a faster setup.

They are basically the same, you just have to wire the IAB's for the GSR.
