A while ago some poeple on here told me that JDM P30 pistons will fit right and yield 11:1 comp. ratio on my b18b1. Today some friends told me that PR3 (Civic SI?) pistons would yield the same results? Is this true. A friend is selling them for $50 which I think is a good deal. Let me know if this will work or not so I can decide. Thanx.

PR3 will yeild 10.8:1
P30 will yield 11:1

for $50 get the PR3... you can make up the .2:1 difference somewhere else

With thinner head gasket the pr3 pistons will be 10.8:1? What headgasket should I use then instead of the oem gaskets?

2 Layer Headgasket w/P30 (JDM B16A) on the stock bore 81 and stroke 89 w/stock piston to deck hieght on a B18B will yeild 11.299:1. Or 11.3:1

2 Layer Headgasket w/PR3 (B16A) on the stock bore 81 and stroke 89 w/stock piston to deck hieght on a B18B will yeild 11.091:1. Or 11.1:1

2 Layer Headgasket w/PCT (B16B) on the stock bore 81 and stroke 89 w/stock piston to deck hieght on a B18B will yeild 11.708:1. Or 11.7:1

1 Layer Headgasket w/P30 (JDM B16A) on the stock bore 81 and stroke 89 w/stock piston to deck hieght on a B18B will yeild 11.6:1. Or 11.6:1

1 Layer Headgasket w/PR3 (B16A) on the stock bore 81 and stroke 89 w/stock piston to deck height on a B18B will yeild 11.380:1. or 11.4:1

Just thought I'd help ya'.

no the PR3 will yeild a 10.8:1 with the OEM head gasket

he is saying you could (more than) make up for the .2:1 difference with a thinner head gasket
