hey guys i have a jdm b18cR with intake, header, 2.5" exhaust highflow cat no resonator and newer civic si muffler. its running on a chipped and socketed p28 on a type r base map on crome. it runs fine, vtec at 5800, but its spitting out lots of carbon on my rear bumper when i get on it, and i know it needs a good solid tune to be perfect, no base map bullshit...
however from your guys experience would I be pressed to lower vtec with the tune? i see all these k20 guys with vtec at 4200, it makes me so jealous, and it would be awesome if my motor would benefit from lowering vtec. cuz lez-be-honest, the b18 has no balls until vtec...if you could even call it balls lol
maybe my question should be, "what do you all motor b18c guys normally see as a good round about rpm for vtec engagement on modded type r's?"
