Hi,

Ok, this is my second question (my first one was about bringing B16A2 to CTR power level). What does it take to make a B18C1 to do the output (and reliability) of a B18C5? What I heard of is just some head work and I'll be good to make 195hp at crank (ITR).

What I'm thinking about is swapping a B18C1 into my EM1 and do some work to bring it up to 195 at crank. Sounds like it will be easier (cheaper) to get more power from a B18 than a B16.

Thanks.

The answer to this question is the same as the answer to the other question. If you want C5 performance from a C1, then use C5 parts. Or, like E said, just buy a C5 to start with. You can either spend less on a C1 and then spend some more on beefing it up with ITR parts, or you can just buy the ITR engine to start with. It's your choice...

Easy and cheap thing to do is

LS crank (b18a/b or b20b/z)

LS rods (b18a/b or b20b/z)

P30 pistons (jdm b16a)

b18c1 block

b18c1 head.

more power than a type RARRRR!!
