Have a 91 Hf CRX with a 98 B20b in it. Lately it's been acting up. I will start to go in first and it will bog down and stutter until I get to about 4500 rpm, and then it will romp on it. When it's bogging I can only scoot around like a slug until it picks up at 4500 or I put in the clutch and tap the gas about 5-6 times until I can get the rpm's up to 4500, and then I can let off the clutch and go like normal. Sometimes it will do it in second gear also, but it hasn't done it in third gear yet.

A friend of mine said that it could possibly be the IAT, so I I went and got one from Autozone, but I still have the same problem. I noticed that if I don't let the RPM's drop below 1500-2000 it won't do it. So I have been driving it here and there and when I come to a stop light I have to throw it in neutral and use my left foot to brake and keep the RPM's up until I can go again. All my grounds are for sure good.

Any help is appreciated.

So found out today that it is most likely something with the fuel delivery. I noticed it was getting worse as my fuel was getting lower and I filled up the tank today and it wasn't doing it. The filter is brand new, but it's not a stock filter, it's an in-line filter. I have an aftermarket fuel pump, and a, I believe, -8an, or whatever the half inch is, line from fuel pump, to stock pressure regulator and stock rail, so I think if I just get an adjustable regulator it should solve my problemo. I think the pressure is not enough for that line going to stock, and putting adjustable should let me put it to where it needs to be. Hopefully.

So got an nrg fuel pressure regulator for $40 off Craigslist and all seems ok so far but I will have to wait till I get lower on fuel to really know. Even though no replies ill still post the solution because its really annoying when I read hella posts on ht and there is never a posted solution.

Looks like my fuel pump keeps sucking up air...noticed today when I was driving and I would take a turn sharp and would bog out, and then catch up. If I take turns slowly it doesn't bog. Time for a Fuel Cell.

I wouldn't use that as an excuse to get a fuel cell.
solve the problem first.

what's the psi on the regulator say when you turn the key and engage the pump?
sounds like something is not installed properly or something has loosend.

I haven't had time to look at it yet. I've already scrapped the idea of the fuel cell. I don't like the look of them, and it's not really practical for me. I'm going to drop the fuel tank on Sunday and pull the pump and see if there is a crack somewhere, or see if it was installed incorrectly. The last owner installed it, so he might have done it wrong. I'll find out. Thanks for the reply. Oh, and with the regulator, I need to get another fitting for it so that I can hook it up to the gauge and see if it is working properly. I'll post again after I drop the fuel tank.

Dropped the fuel tank today...by myself, with 3/4 of a tank, 2 jacks and a tire...kinda shitty, but I got it done. After getting it off the car, I noticed that the last owner, when he installed the Walbro, broke one of the bolts by tightening the nut down too much...

Then I noticed he decided he needed to drill new holes for 2 of the bolts...why I don't know...

Then I find out that the wires on the pump itself were cut and re attached WITHOUT soldering them, or covering them back up.

.....Garbage.

And then a dirty ass strainer...

And I found what I thought was to bee the culprit of my bogging problem.

Fixed the hose.

Took off the old wire and soldered on some new wire to each end and covered the wire with heat shrink.

Got a new strainer and put it all back together and hooked everything back up.

Took the car for a drive and in a straight line it did great, and then as soon as I start turning and the gas all goes to one side, the car bogs again and when it sloshes back and the fuel pump picks it back up it starts going again...I'm a little pissed off now and am unsure what to do next... Please help.
