bad ect=no vtec?

is this true? cuz my car is throwen the ect code and its not hitten vtec now? could it be bacause its not reading that the temp is at least 120 degrees??

if you check engine light is on its possible your ecu is in limp mode, when in limp mode you only get 70% fuel and timing maps, I dunno if it turns your vtec off or not but its possible
