Badboot redux
Not the axle. If interested, there are threads on this site referring this prob.
Replies advise replacing entire axle. Now, my issues with this solution are:
1) Constant attacks with the picklefork will eventually tear up the lower ball
joint, constant replacement also greatly reduces differential oil seal life.
2) The "rebuilt" axles available from the autopart stores ( even factory,
I believe, are now "rebuilt") can have very worn splines, say, due to abuse,
accelerating differential side gear I.D. spline wear. Even if you can find and afford, a high quality new part, you are back to issue #1.
3) O.K., maybe I'm freaking lazy, I prefer to avoid unnecissary work.
I've seen what appear to be better boots for various honda axles, but all
are special order, so can not be measured. Somebody must have have
solved this.
