yes, they both have their strong points. if you are racing a 12 second quarter or something, on a 600 or 700 hp gsr, it might be better to use the ls tranny for traction and fewer shifts.

how do i tell what kind of tranny i have...cuz i bought tha car with a b16 and i dont know if he swapped everything or just tha motor..i think its a b16
