building b18b1 NOOB

My bro handed down a 94 civic with b18b1 swap to me. He did a great job of making it look fast but not actually making it fast. It has a stock b18 from an ls. Im just a kid in high school, how can I push more power out of the engine on about a thousand dollar budget? Im new to all this tuning stuff, hell i just recently learned how to change the oil

Buy a Ebay turbo kit its cheap and i will give you more power.

its not a vtec. I heard thos cheap ebay turbo kits fly apart and get inside your engine.

if you run them on low boost and do not exceed probly 10 psi lets say you should be fine

You should check out NonVtec forum. I was on there for a while. 98 Civic with 99 B18b1 swap, IHE and Hondata tuned. Car pulls pretty good. Start with IHE if not already done then get a tune. Play with that for a while. You are young and new driving, so drive it around for a while to get uses to a quick Honda. Then go Ls Vtec, its the best bang for the buck and opens way more doors to tuning and head work. I am building a B16 head for my B18b1 block now.
