Can't get my Lude to run!!!

:disgust1:The other day i had driven my car out to the salon and when i came out to start it it dinged for a second and then had ZERO power. I tried having someone jump my car and got nothing. I had it towed to my friends house and i bought a new battery and still got nothing. When i say zero power it does not make any noise, no headlights, nothing at all. I don't know what to do and i don't know what to look at. I really dont feel like taking it to the shop expecially if it could be something like a fuse or something. I checked the small fuses but i don't know how to check the big ones under the hood...
I want to be able to fix it or atleast find out what's wrong with it the cheapest way possible...
Anyone have any ideas???

check the connection at the battery to make sure its good and tight and make sure its not all gunked up/[FONT=arial,sans-serif][SIZE=-1]corrosion [/SIZE][/FONT]
