changing from synthetic

what would be the pro's/con's of changing from synthetic back to non-synthetic?
my friend has a 2003 honda vtx 1800 v-twin and the shop he took it to changed it and said it wouldn't hurt it . isn't that a bad thing to do? <_< sounds like a shitty shop to me. <_<

You know this is a good question I've always heard its ok to switch from normal oil to full synth but not ok to switch back.... I have no idea why that is and I've yet to see anything to back that other then well Im told....

Good question Im hoping someone knows a thing or two about oil in here

if anybody knows definitively wheter or not this is bad please post your view.we really think this shop he took it to is jerking him around. it sat for 3- weeks after he was supposed to pick it up and noone had even looked at it <_<
