That's one way to do it, but the tool I was speaking of is actually a kit that allows you to install them with the hub still on the car w/o a press. It's basically a large socket type piece of tool steel that's threaded on the inside to accept the wheel stud, and sits on a pair of washers. You install the 3 pieces onto the stud and run it in with an impact driver to seat the stud into the hub.
