When that occurs, the United Auto Workers union would own 55 percent of the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based automaker
Good. Maybe they can get some of the unions that are killing their bottom line out of there.
Nevermind.
Two years to late. Excellent..... Didnt Obama promise us that after we gave them billions of dollars all would be saved????? If we make it through the next 4 years without becoming a full blown socialist country and he gets re-elected I am leaving.
The division of the union that covers benefits (I believe for the retired union members pension/healthcare/etc) is taking Chrysler stock in lieu of the regular payments. They will then sell the stock to provide the benefits. Not when they purchase 55% of the debt. If I am not mistaken didn't the UAW's health care group purchase some of Chrysler's debt?

My god, is it really that hard to just let them fail.
Seriously... If a business sucks, the government should have no right to take money from successful businesses and other hard working citizens in the form of taxes to bail them out. I like the old chryslers and dodge, but they were done building good cars a long time ago, and need to make room for people who can do a better job.
Obama's platform during campaign was all about change, and changing america for the bettter - so why does he insist on keeping a dying, stagnant company alive on our dime? Time to just pull the plug, and let them fend for themselves. We as Americans know too little of financial hardships, and few of us really know the value of the dollar - apparently that lack of knowledge is not limited to us working class folk, but is extended to the big guys as well.
I need you all to do research on what is our next best option as far as countries to change citizenship.
I've been thinking about it, and they all suck.
Seriously.
