civic axles

I am doing a B18C1 swap into a 94 civic DX. the problem is i can only go home from school on the weekends to do this so i cant do all of it at once. the first thing i want to do is take the old engine ant tranny out of the civic. I need to know though, if i take the tranny out, that means i have to take the axels out. Can i still put the wheels back on to move the car without the axles in?

you can move it but it is not really something you wanna do on a regular basis, the hub bearings can come loose (won't fall apart) without the axle nut and axle holding them together, it can cause damage, but it is rare.
