Anyone know of a program, or how i can capture a sound/song from a video i downloaded. I believe its in a .mov format, and i dont want to record right from my speakers as it would be shitty quality. So are there any certain video editing programs you guys know of i could use?

open your sound recorder.

Start->All Programs->Accesories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder

hit the red button (record) to record whatever you want. then save it when its done recording the sound you want.

So will that record through my onboard sound? i'm not computer illiterate, i know what im doing, just didnt really think that would work that well, or it would be shitty quality

well, im not recording off a tape/cd, is directly from a movie on my pc.
