confused?

ok after finishing my swap i noticed something on my d16z6 my old d16z6 one has a nipple coming out of it water pipe on the back of the engine close to the timing belt but my new engine does not? what was it connected to on my old engine and do i need it?

Was the nipple connected to anything?

Was the nipple on the "hard hose" that goes along the back of the block? If so, it may have just been for the oil heater/cooler and you do not need it.

idk i forgot there wasnt a hose on it but its been out of the car for about a month i just noticed it when i was looking at my old block
