2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Test - Honda Videos
Great power numbers, but .87g? Its still a straight line rocket. The teggy pulls .88 from the factory. NSX .93. Hell, the viper even pulls a .96.
There are tuned civics out there pulling 1.0+, you can't tell me that a room full of engineers can't make the vette handle better. Maybe its a production cost thing. But with the new vetts being priced over 106k, its time it becomes more than a straight line acceleration machine.
I just went to the site, fully loaded, the 2009 corvette 3zr-zr1 is $119,270.
id rather have the GTR still..
I think i just nutted!
Wow .87g? That's it? That's pathetic.
...except it will destroy just about anything on a road course. Don't just be a stat whore, believe me this handles far better than an integra from the factory.
Yea, with a good driver of course. A good driver can drive anything though.
also wondering about the brakes, they said from Ferrari's, does GM own a part of Ferrari now?
although the vette is awesome, give me 119K and I'll be searching for a used Mine's R34.
probably gm's got there pockets in everything it seems
Probably a patent thing. Couldn't make them so they had to purchase them from ferrari.
What if this car could pull 1.0+ in a corner? It would absolutely dominate today's market. Being fast is awesome, but if you have to rely on sheer horsepower to get you through a race via straights and hold on to your ass tire burning cornering, its all for not.
Not to say I wouldn't have a total fucking blast flogging one of these things.
i think the new GTR pulls .99 g's in turns
1. Cheaper ($69,850)
2. 0-60 in 3.1 sec
3. Nissan makes more reliable cars
4. O and better gas mileage ^_^
and the gas mileage isnt all that great either.. 16 mpg highway..
Shit...but if you can afford one you can probably afford the gas for one. I wanna know how much it is to insure a car like that though
well, a buddy of mine was thinking about buying one (GTR) .. just the oil is $1000 ... takes 10 qts at 100 bucks a quart .. oh and a brake job.. haha.. comes with Brembos, so thats self explainable .. he was also thinking about the new M.. but a $1400 gas guzzler tax.. psshh, come on.. he's looking into the IS-F now.. 8 gears FTW!! ..
$100 a qt? what kind of oil does that thing use?
holy crap! is the oil made of liquid gold?
not sure.. but its some stuff he looked into before buying it.. he changed his mind because he recently lost like $40k in the stock market
Z06 still the best bang for the buck.
Its .87 average G...... think about that...... during the entire course the vehicle maintained a .87 average....... Thats ridiculously high.
