D15 vtec swap

My friends 97 Civic ex spun a rod or something with her USDM D15 non vtec - she doesnt have many choices for a swap since her car is Auto and she doesnt want a 5 speed, so shes putting a OBD1 JDM D15 Vtec in and my only question is I know she needs an OBD2 to OBd1 conversion harness and she needs to wire vtec. But will the plugs on her strut tower plug into an OBD1 harnessed motor or will the old OBD2 harness from her old motor work ... and also if I missed anything else needed for the swap let me know

yes, youll need the jumper harness.
the oem engine bay harness MUST be retained. the obd2a harness are 1-piece. you'll have to swap plugs and such onto your oem harness.

So I will have to take out all the wires on the OBD1 plugs from the new motor, and stick them in the OBD2A plugs from the OEM motor?
