d15b2 smokin'drippin,

    I've been wrenchin' on my new ride[91 civic sedan lx] and it's drippin' coolant.ok needs water pump.then the mf'er starts blowin' white/blue out the tailpipe.i mean really bad,james bond smoke screen style, I'm thinkin'it's a head gasket?? anyone have an opinion??

    hahaha the same thing happened to my civ after i did MPFI swap, i don't know for sure but i think it might indicate a head gasket, if it's really bad i supposed it could be piston rings or valve seals...?

    funny thing is she pulls real hard and runs great! She's also been sittin' quite awhile with a tiny bit o' gas,so i threw in some heet and put 5gal. of 92 in her,maybe water in the tank???she was runnin' real crappy before i put in the heet and new gas.

    so i guess NO ONE has an opinion on this??? I'm changin' the headgasket this friday..

    water in the the tank would just mix with the fuel

    white and blue smoke indicate oil or coolant in the combustion chamber, possiably head gasket

    run some seafoam to clean her out maybe, its a last attempt. But it's probably the headgasket.

    OK,so i changed the headgasket she still smokes white. a mechanic friend said it's water in the cat so i tried to drive it home she ran great for 2 miles then the oil light came on i stopped and topped the oil then she started knockin' real bad,i have since ordered a jdm replacement d15 it was only $635 with shipping.i plan on rebuilding the old motor after the swap.the new motor has 40k on it and a warrenty.

    im having the same dayum problem..check your coolant, see if their's oil in there! or try looking on your dip stick, see if its creamy. im waiting for my headgasket to come in. took it out to stretch her legs, and it rips like crazy....ill let you know how it goes..g/l!

    Sounds like head gasket to me. Its 25 bucks for a cheap one so just change it.

    Read above. He already said he replaced the headgasket now he is getting a different motor.

    oil was fine,new engine in she runs like a champ,god bless imported low mileage engines!!
