I just joined this forum and have tried to find the answer to my questions in archives w/o any luck. I'm looking to replace my dead D15B7 engine ('92 Civic) with a D15B2 engine ('91 Civic) and want to know if this can be done easily. I realize that I need to swap at least the intake manifold from the old engine, but I'd like to know what else needs to come over from the old engine. Also, I assume I will still be using the original OBD 1 computer and everything I need to make it work ok will transfer from the old D15B7 engine? Thanks to all for any help with this issue. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

in most states, it is illegal to put an older motor in a newer chassis. you should check with your local DMV first to see if its even legal.

It's not an easy swap, as you'll have to convert the 91 motor from obd0 to obd1, use your current tranny (hydrolic, the 91 is cable) and then swap every plug.

What exactly is 'dead' about the old motor?
