Difference bet VTEC and Non-VTEC distributor

I've gor a B20 bottom, B18 VTEC head with a non-vtec distributor. The car runs, but we are not getting vtec engagement. Is there something internally different in thedistributor that is preventing vtec activation?

do you have the vtec tapped correctly? should be tapped to oil pressure and make sure you got the vtec sensor hooked up.

i don't know about b series but there is a difference internally in a vtec and non-vtec d series dizzy!!!

i'm pretty sure all b-series dizzys are internally the same. atleast i can't recall any occasion where someone had said otherwise.. hmmm

U need a vtech dizzy, maybe hard to find.
