125hp was the four bangers output. The Z24's standard 3.1 V6 put out at least 140hp/185tq and weighed in at 2,556lbs. The hatchback Si weighed in at 2,326lbs with 125hp and 106tq. Standard mathematical beliefs knock off about 1/10th of a second in the quarter per 100lbs lost so in that respect the Si had about 2/10ths of advantage. That could very possibly be overcome by the Z24s nearly 60% more torque and 15hp advantage.

Both are dog shit slow. But probably a hell of a lot closer than anyone likes to admit.
