DX to SI wiring question (call me a moron)

I'm trying to finish the install of an SI engine into my DX 4-door. I have ZERO experience doing this, but I think I'm coming along pretty good. Most of the hoses are on, and I'm ready to start the wiring part. My question is......are the wires coming from the inside on the DX the same as the wires coming out of the plugs on the DX ECU? I want to match them up with the SI wiring harness wire-to-wire. Thanks for any and all help....and YES I am a moron

Thanks! I'll take that as a yes they are the exact same.

what years are we talking about here? they are mostly the same but it will require adding a few wires and possibly moving a few.

It's a '89 DX with a '90 SI engine. The SI engine has most of the plugs and all of the wires. I got my wiring diagram and wire breakdown from http://www.fourthgenhatch.com/mpfi.html
