fuel pump??

how do u know when ur fuel pump has gone out??? i tried starting my car today and it was running fine i usually let it warm up but after it was warming up its started to want to turn off i gave it has and it would do the same. it turn off and i listened for the fuel pump to turn on and i cant hear it now is it the fuel pump or can it be something else. please help

To check the fuel pump unplug the fuel feed hose on top of the filter...if its a HONDA,and turn the KEY if you get splashed with GAS ITS WORKING ...IF Not THEN ITS NOT ....and remember to smoke a cigarrett after your done LOL J/K
