I heard you were suposed to use 10-40 for gear oil in my civic trans, but the garage I go to put 80-90 synthetic gear oil in my transmission.Is That Good!!!
 
Read your user manual. It specifies Honda MTF or 10w30 non-synthetic motor oil. Use the 10w30 if you can't get Honda brand MTF.
 
That heavy crap is gonna create so much parasitic power loss through your drivetrain. Drain it, and put new mtf in. You prolly shouldn't use synthetic, as it will mess with the operation of the syncros. Not that I am for certain on that last point, but most synthetic oils have molybdenum in high quanties, and I know it caused my CBR some problems with shifting gears. The syncros wouldn't grab right with that kind of oil.
