I'm taking a trip the week after the 4th, and have been looking for a cheap price on a rental car. I really don't care what it is as long as it has a/c and gets good mileage. The cheapest daily rate I found was with Enterprise on a Chevy Aveo @ about $20/day but I also found one with Hertz for $24/day but with a free tank of gas.

Does anyone on here know where to find better rates, or is that about the cheapest I'm gonna find?

word. I'm getting one level above their crappiest cars. I'm sure you went for the G35 or something in that range, right?

    i dunno

neonmike's wife just got one and they both love it. its a higher end model than i had for the rental though.

i hated driving that thing. the corners marked 20 that i normally take at 40-45 without even thinking about it (in the dakota too... not just the M) i almost crashed off the road AT 25mph cuz the front end was plowing. that truck sucked. lol

    I hate rental car companies

"give us your name and your money and when you show up you'll probably have one of these 5 cars or something similar"

    You could try www.hotwire.com

They usually have good rates, you just don't know which rental car company you're going though until you pay.

Also something else you could try is naming a price on Priceline and see if you get any hits.
