I might be getting a Civic in a few days, it's got a fresh paint job, but the door handles, side skirts and the piece between the taillights are just plain plastic (black) with no paint.

They offered to paint them with a little more added to the price... So what you guys think is a good rate for those 5 pieces??

Also I would like to add, if I get the Civic, I'm gonna be looking for an intake pipe (1997 dx model) some gsr seats and door panels.. lmk if you got some.

In auto body work and paint, you always get what you pay for. If its too good to be true, don't let them near your car because they could royally fuck it up.

A good paint shop would probably be around $500-$700 for those pieces. Assuming there is no crazy candy coating or any of that. Anything under $300 I'd be extremely wary of. These are just rough off the top of my head numbers though.

leave'em black.. you can always find people parting out an EX the same color and pick up those pieces painted.. probably for cheaper than having them painted.. sell the black ones for more money back in your pocket

the good thing about painting parts that are small like that, is that you can do it with a spray can auto paint and it looks really good if you are any good with a can at all.
i just did the filler panel on the rear of my integra, replaced the old one, new one was green, so i sanded it and painted it black.
looks good, not great, but looks better than the rest of the car.

The car itself has fresh paint (less than a month old) which was done by the same guy at the dealer... And his job on the rest of the car is superb, so I have high expectations already.. I was just looking for some good input on that.

They quoted the job at $150 today, so maybe I'm just getting a good deal for good work?

Plus the guy is Hispanic like I too happen to be, so it could just be that he's being racist... lol

Not a bad idea to just buy them already painted though...

I had the rockers on my green car done at a hispanic owned body shop in cincy. Not one guy there spoke more than a few words of english. They did a great job on the car (still no rust to this day), and charged me like a third of what anyone else would qoute me.

hmmm might just go fo it then... this is kinda a deciding factor into buying the car since its the only thing i dont like about it...

oh man... im getting a new(er) honda finally! last one i had was an '84 lol

and it was a real piece i might add. well, whatever i get i'll be sure to make a thread and post up some pics.

also, if things go well and i get the civic, and more stuff goes well after that... then i'll be looking at doing a gsr swap in that sucka.

how's it going from a d16y7 to gsr? anything i might need to keep in mind?
