were trying to give away our old entertainment center since the T.V wont fit. Then we'll get a nice one for the tv as well as a new surround sound sytem. Man i feel like we're finally moving forward with our lives by being able to do stuff like this and not be broke all the time.

well i got the HD box from comcast. Wow. definitly worth it. I get more channels and a hell of alot more movies. Superman returns, saw lord of war last night. My girl and i watched failure to launch and alot of other movies in high def.

Not bad considering the price only went 7 bucks.

what kind of Dvd player do you guys recommend since mine wont play HD movies.

    WOW, 1100 for just a 37'' . I just got one from best buy "onsale" 37'' w/ 4year warranty for 650.
Either way welcome to HD. Did you buy the 80 dollar cable for the HD box ? Guy said at best buy "its a must have". IDK, I didnt buy it.

HDMI cables can be had for 2.99-20.00 online it's digital so it either works, or it doesn't there's no "ok" working cables.

As far as cable box goes, Comcast only supports 1080I so HDMI isn't needed, component is the only thing needed for HD.

1100.00 for a 37" could be cheap, it could be expensive, the size of the TV means jack shit to the price. what kind of tv, what style, what is the native rez....

its like saying he paid to much for a 4 door car when your 4 door car was cheaper...

yeah we got it on sale too. This was after the holidays so it wasnt a BIG blowout or something. The other brands looked nicer but had almost the same specs. And they were about 200 bucks more. I wanted an LG,sony or plasma but man they were up their. like i said before were not picky and iching ot have the latest in tecnology and brand. This works fine. There was one tv for cheaper but it did look like crap.lol. This one was right in the middle.

As far as the cables we are using the 5 wire RCA's that comcast provided. For sound only.I got a DVI to HDMI converter cable to hook up to my tv for picture. Now i WILL need those expensive cables when i get a new dvd player. I saw the difference........it matters. My friends PS3 looks sooooo much cleaner than the regular cables he had before. Once we pay the tv off we are gonna invest in either a good dvd player or entertainment/surround system.

    again any suggestins in brands/models?

5 wire RCA is component cables. They support 1080i most people cannot tell the difference with 1080i and 1080p unless you're watching a really face paced action shot.

Reason DVDs look so much better when using HDMI cables is because its up converting the video, where if you had a bluray player, chances are you wouldn't notice a difference going from component to HDMI other then the price for the cables.

Again, if you go to buy an HDMI cable, DO NOT buy it from best buy, check out amazon.com or newegg.com I would never pay over $30.00 for an HDMI cable.
Once again it's a true digital so it either works, or doesn't. Theres no such thing as "ok" HDMI cables.
