I am looking to replace the grouding wire on my 95 teg. Is it possible for the grounding wire to be too large and cause electrical problems. I see the grounds are 8 gauge right now I was thinking of going to 4 or even possibly 2.

Nope, technically you can never go too big. But the bigger you get the more difficult it is to work with. I would personaly use 4awg from the battery, and then 8awg to ground other stuff, ie frame to motor etc.
