Alright everyone sorry for all the questions i keep posting just cant seem to find anything on the subject. And its stuff ive never encountered.
Well this time what i have run into is my car starts and idles at about 1000 to 1100 thats not the problem.
When i go to drive it or just rev past 1500 its like it hits a rev limiter and goes baw baw baw baw 3 to 5 times and then if you give it gas to get it past this is jumps straight to 3000 rpms or more. Not sure if its my primary o2 sensor or what but i need your all help.
    My set up is a
97 del sol with a 95 gsr with a chipped P28 ecu and obd2 harness. Everything else runns perfect except this. Ill get a video tomorrow just its 2 am and i dont want to wake up the whole neighbor hood since im running open header. My exhaust is about 4 inches shy of the header ill get that fixed tomorrow hopefully.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

Please (and always) let us know if there are any CEL's (AND their codes)

I say it's a huge problem....it's trying to go into limp mode (far from saying everything else is fine)

If anything isn't hooked up (like O2's) then this is your first mission.

it may be the secondary 02 giving you problems. I'd suggest fixing the exahust first before you waste more time troubleshooting a problem that may not exist once it's hooked up properly.

You need the primary O2 (one before the cat) no if and or buts. Don't put it on the back burner while you drive around.

IACV is probably bad unless it's not hooked up. But you may be able to clean/soak it in carb cleaner.

There is a plug off your engine harness for it. Your header should have a threaded bung for the O2 to screw into. Plug the O2 into both spots.

If you don't have a bung...you need to weld one into your header.

Its on the bottom closer to where the header meets the exhaust right?
also I tried changing the spark plug wires. dizzy cap and still have the problem.
Ive tried 3 different IACV's and still have the check engine light.
Im running a b16a2 throttle body on my skunk2 IM and was wondering if it could be my TPS sensor....

I would use a multimeter to check the electrical lines off the IACV.

    yes.....O2 is down there.

Until you fix your 02 problem, its pointless to mess with the IACV.

Now check the lines. The part is good....do check the electrical on the harness

And yes... O2 sensor is a big thing.

Please check wiring from IACV to ECU (third time is a charm )

Get a manual online and you can find a step by step for checking continuity and ruling out things.

But...I'm really having a hard time believing that the IACV is making the symptoms your talking about.

Please check the wire (multimeter works well) off the TPS and see what volts it's producing at closed throttle (should be around 0.45v) and at wide open throttle (should be around 4.5v). Do both tests with key in "on" position and motor not running.

X2 on checking the IACV wiring. Can the car hold a steady idle? If it does you could warm it up to normal operating temp, then while the engine is running unplug the IACV, and there should be a direct response in idle speed. Also, if you have a multi meter you can check for voltage between the positive terminal, (should be a yellow/black wire) and body ground. There should be close to 12 volts. If your IACV connection is a three prong, put the ground probe of the multi meter to the center terminal of the connector, then connect the positive probe to the other terminals in turn. There should be 16-28 ohms in each case. Hope that helps! Best of luck!
