Gutted Cat ??

I have a 96 civic ex with a d16y8 I recently had my cat gutted and now when I drive I keep getting the Check engine light, cause the second O2 sensor is not reading as clean. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Get a new cat, or a set pipe.

or you can get an O2 simulator, that will fix the code and you can keep your gutted cat

gutting your cat was dumb. You should have just bought a test pipe because cats are expensive and now you have to buy a new one when it is emissions time or even inspection time. But you would have to get it fixed some how because your car is running in (i think) limp mode because you have a "bad" 02 sensor.

well the cat was bad prior to being gutted so I figured it would'nt hurt to gut it and emissions should'nt be a problem. I have found an O2 simulator for $50, but I was wondering if there was an alternative.
