head gasket

ok im new to hondaswap and i just wanna know one thing about my motor. i know alot of ppl put the y8 head on the block and raise compression.

i am on a very small budget just getting out of school and i am going to go through and rebuild me motor and want to know since honda motors can handle 7-10 psi on stock internals (so i have herd) can i get a skinnier head gasket and raise compression on my motor and it still run fine for an everyday driver
