so then why is the gov't setting up iraq with a universal health care system, AT OUR EXPENSE...
[post=388129]Quoted post[/post]

And why is the government setting up universal health care in Iraq and not here. We are the only first world country in the world who does not have universal health care. It will end up costing the same as what we are paying now, except for the rich who will and can afford to pay a slight premium.

except for the rich who will and can afford to pay a slight premium.

the politicians are rich, and the politicians make the rules...

GO FIGURE...

we think of ourselves as the best damn country in the world, but we don't give a shit about our citizens the way many other "first world" countries do...

Actually...blame the US Doctors and their Greedy habit's....

in the countries that have an national health care system, the doctors are all paid the same, and they are paid by the government. Plus the hospital rooms are much like an open loft with curtains, so all the hospitals save more money for actual operational items like surgical tools and things that are really needed to save a life.

Unlike here in America, where HMO's are not rated in a set system, but on the income that they can produce, as also the doctors are not paid by the actual operation that they do, but they pro-rate each operation differently...and they also have to make more money so when they do botch up an operation and get sued, then they can still afford the 3.5 million dollar house and the 4 Porshe's that is in the garage. The American Doctor lost all honesty when de-regulation hit in the 70's, and then the American health care system only helped the people that could afford it. Plus hospitals spend to much to make individual rooms with a cable TV, and full lounging area for the pateince's and their visiting family's...so they can charge more to the normal public when they have to stay the night. If your living paycheck to paycheck....you really can't afford a hospital stay or even the insurance to help cover it.

I've done many plans in the past, In Japan, their national health care was the best I saw, only $60 a month..and if you went all year with out useing it, then you get a $300 refund at the end of the year. If you do use, then you only have to pay a pro-rated set charge for the services provided.

That will never happen in America...only becuase that would force the real doctors into a normal blue-collar job...and their pride would be broke.

On top of Airjockeys striking blow the nails head, welcome to capitalism. If this country had a socialist medical system you'd be crying about having to pay extra taxes to support other peoples health care. Ask anyone in Germany, what their take home pay is, and ask them if they would rather pay out fo pocket, or let the government decide what it cost them.

I mean fucking a, one thread we got people crying about government control, then another bitching that they should step in more. It's one or the other people, not just what you choose to make you happy.
