heat shield Q

i took my heat shield of b/c it was rattling from a missind bolt.

is it ok to have it off with the fan and air componets in? will it melt them?

no it wont melt them, I shouldn't say that it won't but i ran it like that on my 88 civic hatch for 5 months before i blew it up

you'll be fine. Just don't touch it. I havn't had a heat shield in years on my car and have never had a proble. Also DO NOT park on grass or leaves if you don't have the shield on your down pipe.
