This is beyond my skills, but understand it a bit. When I replace it it works for a while, then shorts out again. Will have to trace it out, like you said.
i hate to be the bearer of bad news but you'll probably have to trace it. unless you want to pay someone else to fix it. but i really dont see any other way. the back of a haynes or chilton (available at autozone) should tell you enough you might be able to do it.
