heater core replacement

ok i have a 97 civic dx im trying to replace the heater core i have everything taking out except for the heater core housing, its hitting against the metal frame that my dash rests on and is now stuck, what else do i need to take out so i can get the housing part out?

idk if ek's are the same but i took the whole dash out of my eg. might need to to get the clearance
