I'm trying to identify the valve springs in my motor. I can't say they are OEM because those should be identified with paint. I need to verify this so my head doesn't explode at 9500 rpms running high lift cams. The motor is a b18c-r and has the stock cams.

I cracked the motor open and found S2 titanium retainers. Why would someone upgrade the retainers if they are running stock cams?

Here are the springs:

Did some homework

I checked some of my sources and I am certain I do NOT have oem springs. The picture below shows the stock inner and outer intake valves. At the bottom are measurements I took from my springs.

Then I emailed Skunk2 with my findings. I'm pretty sure I have the Pro series springs, which means the head can take almost any off the shelf cam.

Nice score to find, very nice. I found my B16 head had upgraded H22 LMA in it.
