I was driving home from good old towson university today in 30 degree weather and i m turning into my community and i stop at a stop sign. I precede to turn and i hear a sqealing noise for almost a second. Now everytime i shift i hear a chirping noise. And the chirping noises happens when i shift at 3000 or above(and every once in a while in neutral when i rev). Why is this? I m not sure what it could be but maybe some one does. Thanks in advance for your help. BTW it is a 95 si with stock d16z6.

loose alternator belt

probly glazed

get a new one

set it to the right tension

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you think it will hurt my car if i cant fix it till monday? It doesnt chirp everytime i shift, just like 80% of the time (which is still alot and it pisses me off), and it has only squealed that one time.

shouldnt be too bad ... just drive it easy
