Typos are ok, when James Earl Jones recieved an Award that had "James Earl Ray" etched on it ,that was downright fucking hysterical.

    Even James Earl Jones laughed.

Typographical errors and misspelling something due to ignorance are two different things.

They are both a result of incompetence

They aren't either. I constantly type "teh", instead of "the", does that mean I'm too incompetent to correctly spell "the"?

No, it just means I type too fast and don't check it before pressing enter. Putting an i in the wrong space in a word doesn't make you incompetent, just means you didn't catch it.
