how can you tell if its an AT or 5spd ecu?

here is the serial number off a "obd1 p72" ecu i quote it because it doesnt say p72 in the serial like i would expect but whatever..

If there does happen to be a P72 MB inside of that case then those numbers are worthless... If it's a P05 converted to P28 with IAB functionality (To make it a P72 equivalent) and uses that stock P05 board it's manual more than likely... See if there is a resistor present on RP17... If so it's setup for auto... If not, it's setup for manual... RP17 will be toward the lower right hand corner if you have the plugs facing to the left...
