I was laid off last April. The company I worked for went bankrupt. It happened on April 1st btw! Talk about a joke. The employees did get paid first up to their last day of work, but no one else got paid as far as the company's bills. Had to grab my stuff right then and there, they had a sheriff there watching everyone so they couldn't take anything that wasn't theirs.
