iPod.button repair?

To the best of my knowledge, this center button has never "clicked" like its supposed to, and I'm wondering if something could be done to fix it. I have to push pretty hard on it now to get any kind of response. Don't know what gen it is, I've had it for a while now.

You can see in the pic how its recessed....should be able to anyways.

Dont really know. I bought it in '07 if that helps any. Its a 30gb.
