is there a diffence between 88-89-90-91 lighter

i bought a lighter ash tray thing for my car like a year ago because mine was all nasty and it smelt like smoke
and i just noticed that the one i got has 4 wires and i only had two on the thing you plug it into, and the power thing never worked so i could plug in a tire pump, so is there a difference between the wiring of that between 88-89,90-91 or is it just two wires on a 88?

Is one of the sets of wires for the little light around the lighter?

there are 4 wires that go into the pplug in, one from the lighter and i think two on something hooked on the lighter, i think it is the light, but they are both red wires, and the last one i think is the ground
