This is a 1994 eg coupe with a B16, he is asking 3700. Front and rear bumper need to be painted both are primed. *features*--- It has a ITR header, supposedly CTR pistons, Shorty air intake, and racing sterring wheel (go kart), and comes with a set of fat 5's. New clutch, no power steering no a/c both components are attached but are disconnected. It drove geat, it was pretty sweet and it is rocking stock exhaust which I'm an all motor guy with out the coffee can ringing in your ear. So let me know what you guys think, here are some pics.

I think that that is a sweet deal! The car looks as if it has no rust which is a rarity. Ask to get a compression check on the motor. Have a buddy look for white or blue smoke coming from the exhaust when you take it deep into vtec.

    cool, thanks

Ok, so if it does have any shade or color of smoke coming out during vtec, does that mean its going bad? This will be my first civic I dont know much about them except what my bro tells me. Any info is great, thanks for your current post.

If you want you can e-mail me at oogybat@yahoo.com, thanks alot. I am also new to this site (*go figure*) I do use honda-tech as well. Thanks again.

-it depends on the smoke. if its black or grey, thats usually just carbon and unburnt gas.... not really a bad thing.
-white smoke (don't confuse this with white smoke all cars give out on cold days) is a sign that coolant is burning, and blue smoke means that oil is burning.
-the best way to measure the health of a motor is a compression and leakdown test.

this is even more important than the motor: thoroughly check the car for rust!!!!!
-check behind the rear fenders, behind the plastic trim covering the quarter panels, and underneath the entire car. Look for any bubbling up under the paint. Rust is like cancer with a honda, and like I said earlier, a rust free car is not easy to find. (atleast for me in the midwest:huh:)

    lol

Well its in ATL so I'm no to worried about salt or rust damage. Or even body dmg, I just want a car that runs good and will last me a while. You know lol like a Honda.

Thats a decent deal for that.. but with CTR pistons the compression ratio would be 11.9: 1 compression and would need to be tuned

i would never buy a car that has been previously modified. if its modded then its probably had the piss driven out of it. also you dont know the quality of work done to the vehicle, could have been really well built and will run forever or it could have just been slapped together and is about to blow. also, aftermarket addons and engine swaps add absolutely NO value to the car.

I understand where you are coming from; however, sometimes I wish that I bought a modded car instead of a stock one because I know that already having parts installed that I was planning on getting would save me alot of money in the long run. I would never buy a car, be it stock or modded, without thoroughly going through it to make sure it was taken care of.

i bought my 240 already modded.

    SR20DET, Z Brakes, BPU's . . . $6.5k

Drove the car from Florida to MA with no issues.

Ive spent 1k in repairs over the last year & 1/half. . .

Just check this car out for yourself. Maybe its in great shape.

its possible that it is a good car so dont take my word as gospel. just keep in mind that being a modified car DOES NOT add any value to the car, so dont get ripped off. check it thoroughly also, check the oil to make sure it isnt milky or has gunk build up and look at the dipstick, if it has a bunch of burnt on oil than the car probably didnt get regular oil changes. check everything!!!

I would not buy a modded car either go find a cheaper one with no swap and look for traces of a previous swap. Wires cut and rewired wires that are ran were they shouldnt be unloomed harness. Things like that. I call a perfect un touched car a VIRGIN a nice new and readdy to be fucked!!!!!!!!!!!?
