i have a a d16z6 sohc vtec with a polished head,jdm camshaft,jdm pistons and rods . Is this wrth buying for an everyday driver in a 93 civic ex or just go ls ,gsr,b16
 
hmm.. if it was JDM wouldn't it be d16z? lol

apparently you have never heard of the D15B

but you are PARTLY correct

JDM "D series" engines are USUALLY labeled "ZC"

they are usually incorrectly classified as ZC's...

true ZC's are the 130 hp twin cam non vtec d's...

anyone know where to find a d16a8/9?
they say usdm integra, but which trim level had these motors?

I don't know if this statement could get any more incorrect.

Japans D series D13B, D14A, D15B, D158 and there are a couple more.

ZC's can be DOHC or SOHC, they can be fuel injected, or carberuated,. And the PS range is 100 to 134.
 
I'm pretty damn sure that the ZC classification was reserved for only the TOP rated d series motor... being the 130 or close to 140 twin cam D...

Those are the only blocks that actually have ZC stamped on them...
other D's are refered to as ZC's incorrectly...

You can be "pretty sure", or you can do some research on Honda Japans website...here, I'll point you in the right direction.
